A week ago, I took the first section of the CPA exam, which means that I spent all last weekend hitting the books. I picked up a few fun books at Powell's for a good study break, but the only one my brain could manage was The Inheritance, a collection of fantasy short stories featuring mostly kitties. I tried a WWII memoir and an anthology of scientific articles, but it was just too much for my accounting-addled mind to manage.
Lydia seemed rather unamused that I was so focused on books about cats/CAATs* and tried at every turn to distract me. Her methods worked rather well.
*If you don't get this joke, be glad that you haven't been studying auditing too long for your poor sense of humor to withstand the temptation to make bad accounting puns. And if you do get this joke, be glad that you have already studied auditing and hopefully no longer need to dread the CPA exam. Either way, bravo!
