I've been spending some time lately playing with felt. I enjoy it more than I realized. I have fun making all sorts of plush, but working with felt seems to have only steps that I enjoy. I think it's the fact that the whole thing is done with hand stitching, unlike other types of plush that I make with a sewing machine.
I love being able to make something from start to finish with just my hands. They're amazing tools, if you stop to think about it. I have fun working with technology to create, but now that my embroidery obsession is in full swing, I find that all I want to do is cozy up in a blanket and use my hands to make things.
Perhaps it's the feeling of independence in such a technology-dependent world. Of course, the simple fact that I'm blogging to you about that concept is a bit ironic.
